Your comments were so sweet and so true. It was nice to hear a dad's perspective for a change and that you were open enough to put it out there. Being an older parent it brought back memeories of our children when they were little. Realize this though, as your child becomes older none of what you feel now changes. Your child is always your child.

The documentary about bullying should be a must for everyone to see. I know the R rating is for language but I think the audience they want to reach won't be allowed to go see it with that rating. I know we want to protect our children from inappropriate language but maybe the lesson learned and the discussion that follows is worth the exposure.

Loved this article..its all so true. It's amazing how a "tough guy" will be the one in tears in the delivery room, or be the one tearing up at that touching moment in a movie. I love what my kids have done to/for my husband. A child is without a doubt one of the greatest blessings ever. congrats to you and your wife on the new baby on the way :D

Wonderful blog post, Deadpan Dad. You are so correct about all of it, even from a mom's perspective.

We just bought a (used) minivan with a 3rd row, and we only have one almost 6 year old?! And the learning part is really getting us these days with the reading, writing, and ever expanding vocabulary. He finally learned the common term for the 2-part part of his genitals! It's all we can do to not laugh at these moments, keep a straight face, and maybe even reprimand him a bit to not encourage it.

I'll have to check out your other posts and look out for new ones. Thanks for sharing!

Great job on giving parents information about watching what their children are doing on the computer. This is so important for parents to keep a watchful eye no matter what the age of the child.
