It was nice to hear a dad's perspective for a change and that you were open enough to put it out there. Being an older parent it brought back memeories of our children when they were little. I know the R rating is for language but I think the audience they want to reach won't be allowed to go see it with that rating. I know we want to protect our children from inappropriate language but maybe the lesson learned and the discussion that follows is worth the exposure. It's amazing how a "tough guy" will be the one in tears in the delivery room, or be the one tearing up at that touching moment in a movie. I love what my kids have done to/for my husband. You are so correct about all of it, even from a mom's perspective. We just bought a (used) minivan with a 3rd row, and we only have one almost 6 year old?! And the learning part is really getting us these days with the reading, writing, and ever expanding vocabulary. He finally learned the common term for the 2-part part of his genitals! It's all we can do to not laugh at these moments, keep a straight face, and maybe even reprimand him a bit to not encourage it. I'll have to check out your other posts and look out for new ones.
